Turkey mourns bomb blast victims killed during pro-peace rally
Turkey mourns bomb blast victims
With the death toll rising to 95 in Saturday's twin bomb blasts in the capital city of Ankara, the entire country is in mourning, and relatives of the wounded wait to receive good news from hospitals, while the families of those killed in the attack wait for their loved ones' bodies to be returned to them.
Two suspected suicide bombers hit a rally held by pro-Kurdish groups and some left-wing labor unions in Ankara's main train station just weeks before the Nov. 1 general election. Details regarding the blasts continue to emerge.
Relatives of the victims are waiting in front of the Council of Forensic Medicine in the Yenimahalle district of Ankara, as the local municipality distributed blankets and meals for them on Saturday night.
Three days of national mourning were declared by Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu following the blasts. The stories that the victims have left behind contribute to public grief.
